Kano State Governor, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso has said that two of the G7 governors still in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC) while more governors would move into the party.
The two remaining members of the G7 still in the PDP are Niger State Governor, Alhaji Babangida Aliyu and his Jigawa State counterpart, Alhaji Sule Lamido.
Kwankwaso gave this indication at the Government House, Ilorin when he paid a courtesy visit on Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed as part of his consultation for the presidential ticket of the APC for the 2015 election.
A statement issued by Ahmed’s Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba quoted Kwankwaso as describing APC members as practical people with extensive grassroots reach that will rejuvenate the national economy, tackle corruption and ensure national growth.
“Our economy can never be good in a situation of crisis; our economy can never be good in the face of corruption. Those who are trying to convince us that the economy is good don’t know what they are saying. Yes, their economy is good. The masses economy is bad. That is the situation today. And that is what the APC wants to correct.”
