How to Connect a USB Modem to Your Android Device

Smartphone of nowadays require more data to surf the internet and mainly when visiting your daily website like Facebook,Twitter and others...The visitation of this websites requires data and somehow you see that you are running up data on your sim card to an end,Not only visiting webs but there are other things we do on phone that consume our data like reading mails,synchronizing ,installing apps, we keep our data so that we can always do those things regularly. But in a situation whereby there is no browsing data on our phone again or no close wi-fi around us,their is now alternative to connect your usb modem to your phone and access the internet with simple and easy by the use of OTG cable.


These are the possible reasons you must know how to connect your modem with you android phone..

1. When you are running out of mobile data on your phone and you don't wanna miss something important.
2. When you simply does not have a mobile data option in your contract and want to have internet on the go.
3. When you want to save some battery by setting your phone network to 2G and use the modem like being connected to WI-FI.


 What you need to have before you start using this method

Android ROOTED Device
- An OTG Cable - I use a HAMA One
- An Internet Modem with a SIM providing internet connection.
- PPP Widget 2
- Your provider's APN and other credentials.


NOTE: This only work on android rooted phone so as to give permission for this application to work on phone and this does not affect or damage your phone in anyways.....








 STEPS TO FOLLOW
  1. Download the PPP Widget 2 Application
  2. Set the PPP Widget on your homescreen 
  3. Connect the Modem to your OTG Cable
  4. Connect the OTG Cable to your Android Rooted Device
  5. Grant ROOT PERMISSION
  6. Click Configure and set your SIM Credentials like the APN, Username, Password, Dial String etc
  7. Click CONNECT and you should be ONLINE!
